[Counter Operations](https://help.rentworksplus.com/kb/counter-operations?hsLang=en) # How to Create a Corporate Rental Agreement ## How to set the agreement type to a Corporate Agreement A corporate rental agreement links the rental to a company profile, so the renter is one of the company's employees and the company's settings apply to the rental. The company must already have a profile in RentWorks+. To set one up, see [How to Create a Company Profile](https://help.rentworksplus.com/kb/how-to-create-a-company-profile?hsLang=en).  ##### Start a new rental agreement **1.** Log in to RentWorks+. Go to **Companies**, open the company, and click **New Rental**. The new agreement opens with **Corporate Account** and the company already selected. ##### Set the agreement type **3.** At the top of the form, click **Agreement Type** and select **Corporate Account**. Tags show settings from the company profile, such as **Tax Exempt**, **PO Required**, and **Direct Bill**. If the company requires a PO, the **PO #** field becomes required. See [How to Create a Company Profile](https://help.rentworksplus.com/kb/how-to-create-a-company-profile?hsLang=en). ##### Select the company employee **8.** In the **Company Employee Selection** section, click **Search Employee**. Only employees of the selected company are listed. Click **Link existing customer** to link a customer who is already in RentWorks+, or **Add new employee** to create a new customer as an employee of the company. **10.** The employee now appears in the section with the **Employee** tag, their email, phone number, and driver's license. Finish the rest of the agreement as usual (vehicle class, vehicle, rate, and any required fields listed in the **Summary**), then click **Create Agreement**. ![corporate-ra-10](https://help.rentworksplus.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KB%20Images/How%20to%20Create%20a%20Corporate%20Rental%20Agreement/corporate-ra-10.png?width=670&height=243&name=corporate-ra-10.png) ##### **Individual and corporate rentals compared** Individual and corporate rental agreements use the same form. Choosing **Corporate Account** changes the following: | | Individual | Corporate Account | | --- | --- | --- | | **Renter** | Any customer, found or added in **Renter & Additional Driver Selection**. Some fields like the phone number MUST be unique. | An employee of the selected company, found or added in **Company Employee Selection**. Company fields may be attached to employees, meaning phone numbers can be re-used. | | **Company** | Not used. | Required. The rental is linked to the company and counts toward its rental history and revenue. | | **PO #** | Optional. | Required when the company profile is set to **PO Required**. | | **Company rules** | Standard rental rules apply. | Corporate rules on the company profile, such as a minimum driver age, are shown with the company and apply to the rental. | | **Billing and defaults** | Set on the agreement for each rental. | Settings on the company profile, such as **Direct Bill**, **Tax Exempt**, negotiated rate codes, discounts, and rental preferences, apply to rentals booked under the company. | **Note:** To change the billing, rates, or rental defaults for a company, update its profile.
